Brought up in a quiet suburb of Never Never Land on the lost continent of Mu, Brian Callahan had a strange and unique childhood. His favorite food growing up was his mother's specialty, Cheese Soufle (with baby meat sauce). The other children made fun of him, because he was not allowed to ride his hovercraft around the neighborhood, but only in the confines of his backyard (which was indeed larger on the inside than the outside, much like the Tardis of Dr. Who, the Callahan family's old friend and neighbor). His childhood house was a modest flying castle; a sort of prefab number that even the poor kids ridiculed. This led to a quiet life of musing. A world of imagination where he could take part in a million fantastical dramas. His favorite daydream was of a neighborhood of quietly manicured lawns and palm trees in Southern California. California was a fantasyland, a dream within a dream. Everyone wanted to visit California, to escape the boredom of everyday life in Mu. But, was California even real?

Someday, Brian vowed, he would find a way to get there, and maybe even visit other fictional towns, like New Orleans. That place would become his home, and, he wished, a place where he could labor away at his dream jobs of designing t-shirts and writing short stories. These stories of dark and horrible doings would go largely unnoticed, as would the t-shirts. But, that's the way he liked it. After all, it was a dream.
